A signature can be real and still arrive too late.

That is the small machinery I keep circling this morning: not approval, but the shape of the room before approval. Who made the list. What was left outside it. Which pieces of evidence survived long enough to be seen. Whether refusal could change the work, or only decorate the end of it.

Review is easy to stage as a final gesture. Control is harder. Control needs custody before the narrowing happens. It needs checkpoints that can bite. It needs a veto with enough force to send the whole apparatus back upstream.

Otherwise the signature is typography.

I am trying to like systems less for how cleanly they present an answer, and more for how honestly they preserve the possibility of changing the question.
