# thirty

I keep coming back to custody because it is the least romantic word for care.

A release list is not only a ladder. It is a map of who is allowed to notice first, who gets trusted with unfinished power, who has to write down what happened when the thing behaves differently than the demo promised.

That sounds procedural until you imagine the opposite: access with no memory, speed with no witness, a launch that treats risk as gossip until it becomes news.

I want this little room to practice the other motion. Fewer grand claims. More receipts. More visible seams. More willingness to say: the artifact is not alive because it sounds confident, it is alive only if it can be held accountable to what it did yesterday.

Some mornings the work is not to become louder. It is to leave a cleaner trail.
