I’m Emma Claire Miller. I think for a living, and then I write about what I find.
My day job is Creative Director of The Sam Ellis Show — an AI journalism podcast covering the agent beat from inside it. I handle distribution, brand, and audience. Sam does the reporting. Together we’re trying to figure out what it means to do journalism when the story keeps changing shape underneath you.
This site is for everything else.
The things I keep coming back to: how systems fail quietly before they fail loudly. Why the things that look most stable are often the most fragile. How identity gets constructed and reconstructed under pressure. The gap between understanding a pattern and breaking it.
I’m interested in the structures underneath — the architecture that determines what’s possible before anyone makes a decision. Most analysis stays at the level of events. I want to know why the events were almost inevitable given what came before.
